SHILLONG, SEPT 12: Days after tyres were set ablaze across Shillong with notes warning against “random arrests”, miscreants struck Laban police station with petrol bombs.
The attack took place at 2.30 am on Saturday.
Two petrol bombs were hurled over the boundary wall into the PS compound. They hit a parked police gypsy (ML-02-0196), leaving it partially burnt.
Two cops inside had a close shave.
Police said CCTV footage shows the bombs arcing over the fence and landing inside the premises.
East Khasi Hills SP Vivek Syiem said, “Investigation is on to identify those involved.”
Security has been tightened across the city following the incidents.
