Shillong Jun 06: The Meghalaya Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday sought the termination of Tonu Dey (Gaurav) who has been appointed as the finance adviser of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council and Jaiñtia Hills Autonomous District Council.

A statement issued by state BJP president, Ernest Mawrie expressed upset over the appointment of Tonu Dey.

“The state leadership questioned the credentials, expertise and work profile of Tonu Dey in the field as an adviser of such an important segment of indigenous institution. The State Leadership articulated that the contributions of educated and experience indigenous persons has been uninhibited and offended. Therefore, the state leadership is of the opinion that prompt action for his termination from the above mentioned post should be taken at the earliest,” Mawrie said in the statement.
