Shillong Jan 10: Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma has directed the DGP to take action on reports of illegal transportation of coal.
“There were some reports and allegations that illegal coal trucks have been plying. It is appropriate for me to call the DGP and Chief Secretary separately and asked them about this entire issue. If there is any prove that these kinds of things are happening, action should be taken, and all measures are taken to ensure none of this should happen,” the chief minister said.
He said that the DGP has assured that necessary instructions will be passed on to all SPs and strict action will be taken against any such activity if so found.
“I have given complete order to the DGP to ensure if there is anything like this, action must be immediately taken and none of this should happen,” he said.
On the alleged illegal collection at Dainadubi check gates, the chief minister said that not only an inquiry was instituted. “The inquiry committee has been set up and it will submit the report soon. So based on that report, we will take necessary action,” he said.
