Shillong, Oct 28: Meghalaya romped to an emphatic 11–0 victory over Andhra Pradesh in the Sub-Junior Boys National Football Championship 2025–26 (Tier 2) at Narainpur, Chhattisgarh, on Tuesday morning.
Star forward Marbiang Marwein led the charge with four goals, scoring in the 2nd, 24th, 44th, and 45th minutes, and was named Player of the Match. Marbiang, who also netted twice in Meghalaya’s 6–1 win against Chhattisgarh on Sunday, now has six goals in two games.
The other scorers for Meghalaya were Iaishanborlang Khongjee (9’), Damebandon Mawkhroh (16’), Wanpyndapbor Nongsiej (35’), Shiborlang Dkhar (59’, 66’), Davidson L. Marshilong (81’), and Ferdinand Kharkrang (85’).
With this dominant performance, Meghalaya, coached by Dapmon Tariang, remain on top of Group C with six points from two matches. Only the top team from each group will progress to the semifinals.
Meghalaya will next face Himachal Pradesh on Thursday at 8:30 AM in their final group match.
