SHILLONG, Oct 28: The Meghalaya government has launched an intensive, state-wide initiative to strengthen food security, Aadhaar linkage, and LPG coverage, as the Department of Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs ramps up efforts to streamline food grain distribution and ration services across the state.
Minister of Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Bah Methodius Dkhar inaugurated the Aadhaar Mission Mode Project 2.0 and Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana 3.0 during a programme held at the State Convention Centre, Shillong, on Tuesday.
In his address, the Minister emphasized that the mission was being implemented as a collective effort, with the goal of ensuring that government benefits reach citizens efficiently and transparently. He urged all Deputy Commissioners and officials to work in close coordination and deliver services promptly so that assistance reaches every deserving household without delay.
“Rectification of errors and securing the rights of poor families must be completed immediately,” Dkhar said, adding that the objective was to ensure uninterrupted access to food grains and essential supplies, including LPG, for every household in Meghalaya.
The Minister also directed that Aadhaar linkage for all Priority Household (PHH) beneficiaries—initially targeted for completion in five years—should now be achieved within one year.
“Remember that behind every beneficiary is a mother waiting with her child,” he said, underscoring the human impact behind the government’s welfare schemes.
Dkhar expressed confidence that the renewed commitment under the Aadhaar Mission Mode Project 2.0 and PM Ujjwala Yojana 3.0 would ensure smooth, transparent, and accountable service delivery throughout the state. He appealed to all Deputy Commissioners to take proactive responsibility and prioritize the welfare of the public above all else.
