Shillong, Nov. 13: Chief Commissioner Investment Promotion Centre, Meghalaya, Shri A.K.Srivastava on Tuesday inaugurated the Meghalaya Pavilion at the 37th India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2017 held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi in the presence of Smti M.N.Nampui, Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya and Director of Information & Public Relations, Smti S. R. Marak, Joint Resident Commissioner, Meghalaya House, New Delhi, officials from different departments and entrepreneurs participating in the IITF-2017.
Earlier, the President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind inaugurated the fortnight long Fair from 14th to 27th November, 2017 organised by the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) at a function held at Hamsadhwani Theatre, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The theme of IITF 2017 is “Start up India; Stand up India.”
The Departments representing Meghalaya at the IITF includes Agriculture, Horticulture, Commerce & Industries, Tourism, Sericulture and Weaving, MKVIB and Directorate of Information and Public Relations as the nodal Department. Apart from Government Departments, 10 units sponsored by different departments drawn from various parts of the State also participated in the Fair for promotion and display of their indigenous products.
