Meghalaya SSA Schools Association to Serve a Legal Notice to NIOS

Shillong,July 03: The Meghalaya SSA Schools Association (MSSASA) Central Body resolved to serve a Legal Notice to National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) for failing to rectify the anomalies of Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EL.ED) Exams 2015 Result of 1st batch 2013 even though after 3 times declaraing the result of the same exams declared by NIOS on June 22.

The decision was taken at the General Meeting of D.El.Ed trainees held on June 27 and July 1 in Jowai and Shillong together in the presence of aggrieved D.El.Ed Trainees of 1st batch 2013 comprising of teachers from different category SSA, Ad hoc , Deficit and Govt.

MSSASA pointed out the result declared by NIOS on June 22 is again found to be incomplete with various errors in the mark card, the name of the candidate, that of father and mother is the same. While internal assessment paper marks were given to the candidates, no marks were given for theory paper, from the same study centre, marks of Workshop Based Activities (WBA) and Practice Teaching of some trainees are given whereas marks of some trainees still remain the same as published earlier during the 1st and 2nd declaration of the result and which cannot accepted by anymeans.

MSSASA President Aristotle C. Rymbai while addressing the meeting on Saturday said, earlier the association had taken up the matter with the Chairman of the NIOS, the Minister incharge School Education & Literacy, Govt of Meghalaya, Minister incharge Higher & Technical Education Govt of Meghalaya, the Chief Minister of Meghalaya, the Union Minister of MHRD Govt of India, and had also approached the Office of Prime Minister of India for their intervention on the matter but unfortunately the NIOS continued committing mistakes, which shows that the NIOS had failed in providing the professional training (D.El.Ed) to the inservice untrained teachers in Meghalaya teaching at elementary level and also had affected the future of the aggrieved teachers. All the hard work, energy and the precious time spend by the teachers to complete the training course had been wasted and end up in vains because of the illtreated act made by the Authority concerned of the NIOS. The act of National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) for not declaring a complete result after 1 year and 7 months since the date the teachers have done their exams in November 2015 is a clear violation of its own rules and regulations and also a violation of teachers rights.

Added to this, MSSASA General Secretary H.M.Marbaniang said the legal notice will be serve to the Chairman of NIOS U.P. Noida, Regional Director of NIOS Guwahati, Nodal Officer of NIOS Shillong and also to the Director of Directorate of Educational Research & Training (DERT) Govt of Meghalaya and if the NIOS and DERT failed to reply and fulfill our demands within 14 days which shall be effective from the date of receiving the legal notice then after 14 days the association would move to Meghalaya High Court and seek complete result and the association will not be responsible the same for which the Authority Concerned of the NIOS and DERT have to take all the responsibility on this.
