Shillong, Apr 5: The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) has declared the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examination results, showcasing an impressive 87.10% pass percentage.
The first position was shared between Leisha Agarwal (St. Margaret’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong) and Avila Kathrene P Lyngdoh (North Liberty Higher Secondary School, Jowai) with 582 out of 600 marks.
The second position was shared by Evanshan Nongrum (Sacred Heart Boys’ Higher Secondary School, Shillong) and Pori Panday (Jawaharlal Nehru Higher Secondary School, Phulbari) with 578 marks.
The third position was shared by Anushmita Choudhury (St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong), Sourav Pandey (Alpha English Higher Secondary School, Nongpoh), and Eulogemene Rilin L Suting (K.J.P. Synod Mihngi Higher Secondary School, Jowai) with 576 marks.
A total of 63,682 students appeared for the SSLC examination out of which 55,473 students (22,726 male, 32,747 female) passed.
18,903 students passed in five subjects and 36,570 students passed in all six subjects.
According to the government, the number of candidates appearing for the SSLC examination has gone up to 63,682 students from 54,134 last year.
It also stated that the factors contributing to success is the dedication of students, revised question pattern, and the CM IMPACT guidebook.
Meanwhile, the Supplementary Examination introduced this year will be conducted in April 2025.
The highest pass percentage was recorded by West Jaintia Hills district (96.03%), and the lowest pass percentage by South West Garo Hills district (74.77%).
