Meghalaya’s Eugeneson, Anas costliest players in ISL domestic draft

Shillong, July 19: India’s star footballer, Eugeneson Lyngdoh Mawphlang is set to be one of the highest paid domestic players in the next edition of the Indian Super League (ISL).

The star midfielder, Eugeneson who hails from Shillong and has been playing for FC Pune City in the ISL, and Bengaluru FC in the I-League, has commanded the highest price of Rs 1.10 crore each along with Delhi Dynamos defender, Anas Edathodika, to become the costliest domestic players in the draft.

Altogether 199 players have been put up for sale at the domestic player draft. Other Indian players in the list of highest price include, goalkeepers Subrata Paul (Rs 87 lakh) and Arindam Bhattacharya (Rs 73 lakh, which includes a Rs 9 lakh transfer fee for FC Pune City), and defender Pritam Kotal (Rs 75 lakh).

It was not sure if FC Pune City would still interested in retaining Eugeneson considering the price he commanded.

FC Pune City had bought Eugeneson for Rs 1.05 crore during the first-ever ISL’s auction in July 2015.
