Monsoon showers in Meghalaya, Northeast India to experience heavy rainfall

Shillong, June 12: As monsoon reached Kerala, the arrival of Monsoon in the north-eastern states of the country, have been witness by the seven sister’s states as well .Heavy to extremely heavy rains downpours.

Several parts of Northeast India have experience a hefty showers, but rains became subdued and only very few districts of Northeast India were able to observe light traces of rains. Rains have increased and are now expected to continue in increased intensity. The northeast region has been lashed by good rains in the last 24 hours as well.

As per Weather report, a deep depression has crossed Bangladesh near Khepu Para early morning today at approximately 5 AM (IST). On account of this, rains picked up pace over Northeast India and lashed several states.
Weather report reiterates that it is likely to continue moving in north and northeast direction towards Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura.

Though Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, and Meghalaya will also be witnessing moderate to heavy rains for another 48 hours.
There is also a low pressure area in the Bay of Bengal and this will take the monsoon to several parts of West Bengal.Monsoon is also predicted to make an onset over almost the entire Northeastern States.
Hence, rains will continue to pour over Northeast India until the onset of Monsoon.
