Shillong, August 27: The Meghalaya Schools Welfare Development Association (MSWDA), Central Body, has highlighted 261 candidate entries involving examination-result and documentation discrepancies affecting the 2013–15, 2015–17 and 2017–19 batches.
In a statement, the association listed issues including missing marksheets and certificates, candidates allegedly marked absent despite appearing for examinations, discrepancies involving optional subjects, and results that reportedly remained unchanged despite repeated attempts.
The largest category involves 86 entries related to conflicting optional-subject records under codes 509 and 510 across the three batches. According to the MSWDA, affected in-service teachers have requested that their theory examination marks be considered and that the recorded TMA marks under either subject code be accepted, arguing that primary school teachers teach all subjects.
Another 67 entries concern candidates recorded as “SYCT”. The association said these candidates had appeared for examinations two or three times in the same subjects, but their marks reportedly remained unchanged.
The statement also identifies 12 cases in which candidates were allegedly marked absent in theory examinations despite having appeared. A further 23 entries involve absence markings or missing internal and practical marks, including marks that were reportedly resubmitted by study centres.
Meanwhile, requests for original marksheets, certificates and corrections account for 73 entries. Of these, 23 relate to the 2013–15 and 2015–17 offline batches, while 50 concern the 2017–19 online batch. Among the latter, 48 candidates sought both marksheets and certificates, while two sought certificates only.
However, the detailed remarks provided for the 23-entry documentation category account for only 19 candidates, leaving four entries unexplained in the summary.
The association’s statement does not clarify whether individual candidates appear in more than one category. As a result, the figure of 261 represents entries listed by the MSWDA and cannot be confirmed as 261 distinct individuals.
