Shillong, Dec 13: The office of the Meghalaya Transport Corporation (MTC) in Jowai, West Jaintia Hills district was reduced to ashes after it was set ablaze by miscreants in the wee hours of Friday morning.

The MTC office is located in front of the Jowai police station at Iawmusiang market.

In another incident, miscreants also lobbed a petrol bomb inside the office of the Commerce & Industries at Mihmyntdu village at the outskirt of Jowai town. However, on a chair in one of the rooms of the office was burnt as the incident was quickly detected by the chowkidar.
