Shillong, January 24: The Office of the District Medical & Health Officer, East Khasi Hills, Shillong will conduct the National Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization Programme (IIPI), 2018 all over the District.
The goal of the programme is to eradicate Poliomyelitis and to vaccinate all children under five years of age against Polio virus in the District and the State as a whole.
The first round of the programme will be held on January 29 from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM in the arranged booths throughout the district to be followed by house to house search and coverage activity on the January 30 and 31.
All parents are requested to bring their children below five years of age to the arranged booths in their respective locality for vaccination.
Headmen, NGOs, Church leaders are also requested to join hands with the Department of Health & Family Welfare for the success of the programme, so that children are protected from the wild polio virus and eliminate it from the surface of the earth.
