SHILLONG, JUL 13: NEHU Chemistry faculty Dr Snehadrinarayan Khatua has been selected for the prestigious CRSI Bronze Medal 2027 for his contributions to chemical sciences.

The Chemical Research Society of India award recognizes young scientists for outstanding original research.

Dr Khatua was cited for his work in inorganic and coordination chemistry, particularly in developing transition-metal complexes for luminescent materials, chemical sensing and bioimaging.

An IIT Kharagpur Ph.D. and former Alexander von Humboldt Fellow, Dr. Khatua has also worked at KAIST, South Korea and Universität Siegen, Germany. Since joining NEHU, he has published 73 research papers, filed 3 South Korean patents, and mentors several doctoral students.

He currently serves as NEHU’s SWAYAM Coordinator.

The honor underscores NEHU’s growing research profile and puts a spotlight on scientific work emerging from the Northeast.

The medal will be presented by CRSI in 2027.
