Shillong, Mar 6: The 15th Annual Day & graduation ceremony for MBBS and nursing students was celebrated at NEIGRIHMS on March 5.
The Dean of NEIGRIHMS, Prof. Animesh Mishra congratulated the graduate students and asked them to incorporate empathy in their future medical profession.
Dr. Mishra also administered the physician’s pledge to the medical students.
Prof. Nalin Mehta, Director of NEIGRIHMS, emphasized the importance of leaders in providing the best of platforms for future medical professionals.
Prof. Mehta congratulated the graduates and expressed his confidence that they will serve the nation in the future with the best healthcare practices.
Chief guest Padma Shri awardee and eminent urologist Prof. Mahendra Bhandari, CEO of the Vattikuti Foundation delivered a talk on “Future of Surgery”.
Prof. Bhandari in his oration ignited the young mind with a futuristic approach of combining artificial intelligence and predictive models in redefining surgeries and medical treatments.
Addressing the students after the oration Prof. Bhandari advised the graduates to be confident and transform the world with knowledge by directing their energy consistently and selflessly.
Guest of Honour Prof. Ashok Puranik Executive Director of AIIMS Guwahati applauded the students for achieving the first milestone in their career and insisted on integrating humanity and respect for human life during the medical profession.
Prof. Bhandari along with Prof. Puranik and other dignitaries conferred scrolls to the newly graduated medical and nursing students.
The chief guest also awarded various prizes for the academic and scientific events which were held as a part of the annual day celebration.
