SHILLONG, Nov 21: The Meghalaya State Information Commission on Friday released a new informative booklet titled “Duties and Responsibilities of the Applicant under the Right to Information Act, 2005.” The publication is part of the Commission’s ongoing efforts to deepen public awareness and enhance understanding of the RTI framework among citizens and stakeholders.
The booklet was formally unveiled by Chief Information Commissioner R.V. Suchiang and Information Commissioner Ripnar Lyngdoh during a brief ceremony at the Commission’s office.
According to the Commission, the booklet is designed to promote the broader objectives of the RTI Act by encouraging mutual accountability between information seekers and providers. It aims to strengthen transparency, improve accountability, and reinforce principles of good governance across the state.
The booklet has been uploaded and is now available on the official website of the Meghalaya State Information Commission: megsic.gov.in.
