Shillong, April 27: The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has postponed the hearing on coal mining ban in Meghalaya to next month.
Sources said that the hearing will be held on May 30.
Earlier the Supreme Court on September 21 last year allowed transportation of extracted coal already assessed in Meghalaya from October 1, 2016, to May 31 this year.
The ban on coal mining in Meghalaya was banned by the NGT since April 17, 2014.
The NGT on April 25 had asked Union ministry of coal and ministry of environment, forests and climate change, to give their responses on mining guidelines submitted by the Meghalaya government.
