SHILLONG, SEP 1: Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong on Tuesday downplayed reports of nine UDP MLAs planning to merge with the BJP, saying the MDA government is stable as NPP alone has a majority.
“I have seen it only in newspapers. We have regular MDA meetings. All partners speak to me, to the CM or to Sniawbhalang Dhar and we resolve issues. I do not see any problem,” Tynsong said.
He said the buzz could be due to internal differences within UDP.
On numbers, Tynsong said, “Our strength alone is 33. We need 30-31 to form government, so we have already crossed that mark.”
“We have nothing to say as it is their internal matter. But the government is strong, stable and will complete its full term till 2028 and beyond,” he added.
