SHILLONG, MAY 29: The National People’s Party will take up the matter of its Rajya Sabha candidate with senior leaders before arriving at a decision.  

After attending the meeting chaired by the CEO on Friday, NPP organizing secretary Don War confirmed that the party expects to contest the seat but has not settled on a name. 

“We expect the party to filed candidate beyond that I cannot say, we have not decided about the candidate,” he said.  

“I will take up with proper authorities, then we will decide things later on,” War stated.  

The lone Rajya Sabha seat from Meghalaya is up for the biennial election on June 18.
