Shillong, Nov 21: The National People’s Youth Front (NPYF) South West Khasi Hills district met Deputy Chief, Prestone Tynsong and requested the State government to initiate various developmental programmes for the growth of the district.
Led by the President of NPYF South West Khasi Hills, Sitshal Lyngkhoi, a memorandum was submitted to the Deputy CM, demanding many development for the growth of the district as a whole .
In the Memorandum, the NPYF asked the government to ensure adequate supply of drinking water through the Mawkyrwat Greater Water Supply in the district headquarter and Ranikor Greater Water Supply in the Civil Sub-division headquarter. They also demanded the setting up of a district Auditorium for the benefit of talented youth in the district, especially when many talented youth from the district are representing the State in many events, both State and National level.
They also requested the Government to give its focus to the newly created Civil Sub-Division and set up more departments for the benefit of the people, setting up of Industrial Training and other vocational training centers in the district, speed up two pending projects- the Block Institute of Education and Training at Sakwang village under Mawkyrwat Block, and the Residential School at Shnongkalong village under Ranikor Block.
The NPYF also demanded to speed up the construction of 100 bedded Hospital at Mawkyrwat which had been sanctioned in 2011 and not yet completed till date, and set up an ANM nursing school at Mawkyrwat.
On road connectivity, they asked the state Government to find out ways and means to improve the road from Mawngap, Mawphlang, Laitmawsiang to Mawkyrwat and Rangthong-Nongnah Dirang-Khadphra (Ranikor) Bangladesh border.
Moreover, the NPYF demanded from the state government to create various Departmental offices in the district such as SE PWD, SE PHE, SDO PWD (Buildings), SDO Engineering Wing and many other offices.
