Pay revision will not cover deficit school teachers, says Chief Minister

 

Shillong, Nov 21: Deficit school teachers in the state will not be covered under the newly approved pay revision for state government employees.

This was informed by chief minister, Mukul Sangma while speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a cabinet meeting here on Tuesday.

“This was because of the fact that the terms of reference of the fifth Pay Commission was only for government employees. However the government has a different methodologies and schemes for deficit teachers. The deficit teachers would automatically benefit whenever the government raises basic salaries and all their allowances,” the chief minister said.

According to him, deficit teachers also got almost equal pay whenever the education department came with a proposal to increase their salary except pension which has not been resolved yet

The chief minister also reiterated all deficit schools and colleges in the state would be provincialized subjected to willingness of their respective managing committees.
