Shillong, Jan 5: An Orientation programmed was held on Friday on the functioning of the Electoral Voting Machine (EVM) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT).
The program were organized by the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Meghalaya , in collaboration with the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District, Shillong, the

The Programmed was conducted to apprise the various political parties on the functioning of the Electronic Voting Machine and the VVPAT. The practical session and a mock poll was also remain
the part of the programmed.
Various political parties like lndian National Congress , Bharatiya janata Party, Nationalist Congress Party, United Democratic Party, Peoples Democratic Front, participated in the programmed.
2018 poll, Meghalaya is going conduct the poll with a Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) for the first time in the state .
