Shillong, Jan 24: Rangdajied United FC won 6-0 to leave Nongrim Hills SC battered and bruised in the OC Blue Shillong Premier League 2024 at the SSA Stadium at First Ground, Polo, here today.
In the earlier match, Nangkiew Irat SC split points with Langsning FC after a 1-1 draw.
Rangdajied scored twice in under ten minutes through Owanijuh Pajuh (6′) and Arlangky Nongsiej (9′) and rubbed further salt into Nongrim Hills’ wounds with two more goals in the first half thanks to Dibormi Kassar (26′) and Owanijuh (34′) again.
In the second half, a cross from Aenam Jyrwa was tapped in by Freddy B Jyrwa (68′) before Manbhakupar Iawphniaw (77′) took control of a through ball and ran with it from his half into the Nongrim Hills box before firing in low past the goalkeeper.
RUFC also won the reverse fixture on November 8 with a narrow margin of 1-0.
In the first match, Rhitso Mero (25′) scored first for Langsning in his first match for the team. Langsning, who lost the reverse fixture 3-1 on 29 October, looked like they would hold on for the victory but Jefferson Pakyntein (90’+2) delivered the equalizer in stoppage time to the relief of his Nangkiew Irat teammates.
The next OC Blue SPL 2024 match will occur on Tuesday between Sawmer SC and Laitkor SC at 2:30 pm. Laitkor had won 2-0 in the first leg on 28 October.
