Shillong, Oct 14: Ranji Trophy cricket returns to Shillong for the 2025–26 season, with Meghalaya set to host Mizoram in their Plate Group opener at the MCA Ground, Polo, from tomorrow morning at 8:30 AM. Spectators are welcome to attend the match.
One of Meghalaya’s leading batters, Kishan Lyngdoh, will once again captain the side, while fast bowler Akash Kumar Chaudhary has been named vice-captain. Moisten Ch Marak takes charge as head coach.
Among the key inclusions, Ajay Duhan has been retained for a second season as one of Meghalaya’s BCCI-approved guest professional players, while Rahul Dalal, a seasoned batter from Haryana, joins as a new face. Rahul previously represented Arunachal Pradesh until the 2023–24 season.
Meghalaya are placed in the Plate Group alongside Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Manipur, and Mizoram. The top two teams from the round-robin stage will qualify for the Plate Group final.
