Shillong, Jan 2: Meghalaya’s Riiohlang Dhar has once again been selected for the FIFA Refereeing International List for the year 2026, reaffirming her status as one of India’s leading football match officials.
The development was communicated by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) Referee Department to the Meghalaya Football Association (MFA) on December 31.
A FIFA-level assistant referee, Dhar has officiated at several major international tournaments. In 2024, she created history by becoming only the second Indian match official to officiate at a FIFA World Cup, serving at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup held in the Dominican Republic. The same year, she was also appointed as an official for the AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup in Indonesia.
In recognition of her consistent excellence, Dhar was named AIFF Female Assistant Referee of the Year for the 2024–25 season in May 2025.
A serving policewoman with the Meghalaya Police, Dhar was further honoured in December 2025 when she was among the select individuals recognised for their contribution to football in the state at an MFA awards function, organised to mark the commencement of the association’s 50th anniversary celebrations.
