Soil & Water Conservation gets own building in WJH

Shillong, Sept 01: The office building of Soil & Water Conservation, West Jaintia Hills District was inaugurated on Friday by Deputy Chief Minister, Prof. R.C Laloo, in the presences of Minister in-charge Soil & Water Conservation Ronnie. V Lyngdoh.
The building was built at the cost of Rs 4 crore.
Director Soil & Water Conservation George Kharmujai, Additional Director V. Papang, Soil & Water conservation, Shillong, A. Lamare Divisional Soil & Water Conservation Officer, West Jaintia Hills.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Laloo lauded the efforts and dedication of the Minster in-charge, officers and staffs of the department for having completed the construction of the building within the stipulated time and for serving the public in a beneficial way.
The foundation stone was also laid by the Deputy Chief Minister in 2012 when he was the minister in-charge Soil and water Conservation.
Minster in-charge Soil and Water Conservation praised the Deputy Chief Minister for the efforts he has put in to see that the building is fortified.

Creating a new office building and spacious area will surely generate better performance from officers and staffs of the Office, the minster said.

P. Kynjing, Daloi of Jowai, Andrew A Shullai, Deputy CEM, Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council also spoke on the occasion.
