BJP says Cong MLAs are“mentally imbalance”

Shillong, Oct 24: The Meghalaya BJP on Tuesday took a dig at the Congress and accused the ruling party’s MLAs of being “mentally imbalance.”

“Congress legislators in the state have gone mentally ill. They are critical of the BJP during the day, but during the night, they are contacting the BJP high command seeking safe refuge from our party,” BJP spokesperson, Basu Chakraborty said while countering the recent remarks made by Urban Affairs Minister, Ronnie V Lyngdoh who accused the BJP of trying to do away with reservation and quota system for minorities and tribals.

The BJP asked Lyngdoh, who is also the sitting Congress legislator from Mylliem to substantiate his allegation.

The BJP also claimed that mass exodus of Congress legislators would take place either in November or first week of December.

Asked if sitting legislators will be given first preference, the BJP however said that final decision to allot party ticket to the aspirants would depend on the outcome from a survey conducted by grassroots workers.
