SHILLONG, FEB 23: The opposition All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) has announced its first list of 14 candidates for the upcoming Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) elections scheduled to be held on April 10, 2026.
The list was approved by the party’s Pradesh Election Committee. TMC state president Charles Pyngrope confirmed the names in a statement issued on Monday.
The candidates in the first list are:
Changseng R. Marak (3-Silkigre)
Witerson M. Sangma (4-Rongrikimgre)
Richard Mrong Marak (7-Babelapara)
Dimseng K. Marak (9-Tura)
Hilthudhera Ch. Marak (10-Dengnakpara)
Batchot Ch. Marak (11-Boldamgre)
Hemendra Hajong (14-Betasing)
Rahendro A. Sangma (16-Asanang)
Lithson B. Marak (20-Raksamgre)
Badith T. Sangma (22-Jengjal)
Asish R. Marak (24-Bolsong)
Perdinand D. Shira (25-Damas)
Baseng N. Marak (27-Samandagre)
Alphonsush R. Marak (29-Williamnagar)
The party is expected to announce additional candidates in the coming days as preparations intensify for the GHADC elections.
