Shillong, June 23: After a pre-poll understanding with the Hill State people’s Democratic Party (HSPDP) for the 36 Assembly seats in Khasi and Jaiñtia Hills, the United Democratic Party (UDP) has also forged a pre-poll alliance with the Garo National Council (GNC) in Garo Hills which has 24 Assembly segments.
This was announced jointly at Tura by UDP President, Dr Donkupar Roy and GNC President, K.D. Sangma for the entire Garo Hills, in the presence of party leaders from both the parties.
UDP leaders, Bindo M. Lanong, Allantry Franklin Dkhar, and GNC leaders including, Augustine Marak (MDC), Winnieson (MDC), LC Momin, Utpal Arengh and a host of party leaders were present.
