Shillong, June 03: Chief Minister Mukul Sangma today asked whether the pre-poll alliance entered between the United Democratic Party (UDP) and Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP) has backdoor understanding with the BJP.
Commenting on the pre-poll alliance forged between the two opposition parties (UDP and HSPDP), Mukul said that the alliance has happened since both the regional parties knew that they cannot align with the BJP because of its “hidden agendas”.
“But what we need to see is, whether these regional parties are having backdoor alliance with the BJP”,” Mukul asked.
The Meghalaya Chief Minister accused the BJP of using the North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) only to “piggy ride” on the regional parties to be able to form governments in states in the Northeast.
According to Mukul, the BJP will destroy once it penetrates into the governments of the states in the Northeast.
