UDP-HSPDP alliance drums up support for Mawlai MLA

Shillong, Jan 8: The United Democratic Party (UDP) and Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP) on Monday organized a rally to drum up support for UDP MLA from Mawlai constituency, Embhah Syiemlieh, who is also the party candidate in the upcoming Assembly polls.

Addressing a rally organized by the UDP Mawlai circle at the playground of Shillong Polytechnic, Mawlai, UDP leader Paul Lyngdoh said that the UDP by working together with the HSPDP would win and rule the state after the elections this year.

Lyngdoh criticized the ruling Congress for despite ruling the state for decades, it failed to deliver and provide good governance.

HSPDP leader, Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit said that people not to use emotions to elect public representatives to the state Assembly, but use wisdom so that the state gets people who can make laws and policies for the betterment of the people of the state.

Syiemlieh claimed that as MLA of Mawlai, he tried his best in serving the people of the constituency and implement the MLA schemes properly.

He urged the people the vote for him again in the upcoming elections and gives the UDP and HSPDP a chance to rule the state.

Other speakers include UDP MLA from Nongthymmai, Jemino Mawthoh, besides office bearers of UDP Mawlai circle.
