Shillong, June 27: North Shillong MLA Adelbert Nongrum on Saturday inaugurated the newly renovated Community Hall of Riatsamthiah Dorbar Shnong, highlighting unity, cooperation and collective responsibility as the pillars of sustainable community development.
Speaking at the inauguration, Nongrum lauded the residents and the Dorbar Shnong for successfully completing the renovation through collective efforts. He particularly commended Rangbah Shnong M.H. Kharkrang and members of the Dorbar Shnong for their dedication, describing the Community Hall as a valuable asset that will serve the locality for years to come.
The legislator urged residents to continue extending their support to the Dorbar Shnong to facilitate more development projects that would benefit both the present and future generations.
The programme was attended by Rangbah Shnong M.H. Kharkrang and a large number of local residents, who witnessed the inauguration of the renovated hall.
On the occasion, Nongrum also participated in a felicitation programme organised by the Seng Longkmie of Riatsamthiah Dorbar Shnong to honour students who excelled in the SSLC and HSSLC examinations.
Congratulating the achievers, the MLA encouraged the students to remain committed to their studies and strive for greater success in life. He also appreciated the Dorbar Shnong and the Seng Longkmie for promoting education and recognising academic excellence through such initiatives.
Reiterating his message of unity, Nongrum appealed to residents to continue working together for the overall progress and development of the locality, assuring them of his continued support for initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of the community.
Meanwhile, Rangbah Shnong M.H. Kharkrang expressed gratitude to all residents who contributed towards the renovation of the Community Dorbar Hall. He said the project was made possible through the collective spirit and cooperation of the people.
Kharkrang also urged residents to preserve and use the hall responsibly so that it continues to serve the community and future generations.
