Shillong, Apr: Adelbert Nongrum, Voice of the People Party (VPP) legislator from North Shillong, who has been suspended from the party for three years claims the suspension is equivalent to expulsion, despite his efforts to resolve issues through discussion.

Nongrum was a key member of the party’s formation. He was suspended after being accused of anti-party activities.

He denies being anti-party, but rather “anti-procedure”. Nongrum expressed pride in the party’s growth and people’s love for it. He plans to speak publicly about the issue after Easter.

Nongrum stated that he may appeal the suspension or seek a discussion with the party.
