Shillong,Jan 16: The Meghalaya Installation, Regulation, Maintenance and Operation of Weighbridge Rule, 2009 and will be known as the Meghalaya Installation, Regulation, Maintenance and Operation of Weighbridge (Amendment) Rules, 2017. This was informed by The Commissioner & Secretary of the Government of Meghalaya on Monday to the Transport Department of Meghalaya.
In amendment to Rule 3 of the Meghalaya Installation, Regulation, Maintenance and Operation of Weighbridge Rules, 2009, the State Government has a power to install and maintain as many weighbridge as needed , provided if they found it fit and proper to install. In case of any immediate action, claim of any weighbridge in the purpose of paying adequate fees would be decided by the Deputy Commissioner of the concerned District, In amendment of rule 4 (f) of the principal rules . the words “National highway Authority of India is added after the words Executive Engineer, PWD(roads).
