SHILLONG, OCT : The Shillong Cherry Blossom Festival is set to return on November 20 and 21 with an international lineup, with festival producer Rockski EMG saying the Government of Meghalaya’s vision and sustained support has made it India’s No. 1 music festival and a key tourism brand for the state.
The organisers said the government’s focus on music and culture as drivers of tourism has helped create a platform that brings global artists to Shillong, attracts visitors from across the country and beyond, and gives Meghalaya a distinctive identity where world-class entertainment meets local culture and hospitality.
They said the festival winning Music Festival of the Year at EEMAX Global in 2025 underlines that journey, adding that beyond an annual event, it has become a lasting tourism asset generating opportunities for local artists, hospitality sector, entrepreneurs and youth.
Ahead of the main festival, an International Music Summit will be held on November 19 in collaboration with India International Music Week to connect local talent with the global industry. The summit will bring festival promoters, record labels, booking agents and professionals from around the world to Shillong for panel discussions, workshops and interactions with Meghalaya Grassroots Music Project artists, and will be open to all musicians from the state.
The 2026 edition will also feature Cherry Blossom FIT CHECK, a fashion and self-expression competition carrying a total cash prize pool of Rs 20 lakh with online and on-ground participation and winners to be announced on the Main Stage, along with a Red Bull Fan Zone, MMA, armwrestling, cosplay and lifestyle experiences.
Rockski EMG said the 2026 edition builds on the achievement so far, strengthening Meghalaya’s tourism identity and welcoming the world to Shillong.
