Shillong, Mar 5, 2020: Meghalaya returned to the field with a crushing 171-run victory over Arunachal Pradesh in the Women’s Senior One-Day Trophy in Puducherry on Thursday.
This was the first match that the senior team played since Chandigarh upset their run of five consecutive victories on Monday and they put in a stellar performance against Arunachal on Thursday.
After being put in to bat Meghalaya made 220/6 in their 50 overs and then bowled out Arunachal for 49.
Saee Purandare was on her way to making her third century of the season but was dismissed for a mighty 95, while Vandana Mahajan struck 51 to put Meghalaya into a strong position with only the death overs to go.
Riticia Nongbet and Solina Jaba then contributed 10 runs each to take Meghalaya to 220/6, their highest total this season.
