XI Biennial Conference “Empowering Nurses Through Advance Technology”

Shillong, May 24: The XI Biennial Conference of Students Nurses ’ Association organized by the Trained Nurses’ Association of India, Meghalaya State Branch on the theme “Empowering Nurses Through Advance Technology” was held today at the School of Nursing Ganesh Das Government Maternal & Child Health Hospital, Shillong.
Meghalaya Health Minister, Smti. R Warjri graced the inaugural function as the chief guest in the presence of Additional Chief Secretary, Mr. Y Tsering, Dr. (Mrs) N M Shylla, Medical Superintendent (Jt. DHS) besides others.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest said that to be a nurse by profession is not always easy as one has to deal with the health of many people and patients. She said that the life and health of many who are suffering depend on their hard work and dedication. Thanking them for their compassion towards serving the sick she urged the nursing fraternity to uphold in every way the dignity and honour of the nursing profession and to promote team spirit, high standard of health care and nursing practice apart from enabling the members to represent their issue and express their point of view to the concerned authorities.
Later, Smti Warjri handed over the award to meritorious students who have excelled in various field of nursing and inaugurated the exhibition.
