Lyngdoh is the eldest son of former Chief Minster (L) Evansius K. Mawlong who had represented Umroi constituency in the past years.
The meeting saw the participation of over one thousand youths who elected the new office bearers of the Umroi Block Congress Youth Assembly in the presence of leaders of the Meghalaya Pradesh Youth Congress, Umroi Block Congress Committee and Mahila leaders.
Dester Hinge was elected as president of the Youth and Ailad Shadap as working president, while Foster Sohïong was chosen as general secretary.
The youths and leaders who spoke during the meeting resolved to work hard to ensure victory for Lyngdoh and the Congress party in the upcoming election, even as they urged the people of Umroi constituency not to fall into the influence of money during election. They also urged the people to vote for Lyngdoh so that he can represent the people to the state Assembly and work for the overall development of Umroi constituency in particular and the state as a whole.
