Shillong, November 18, 2025: The Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union Shillong (ASUS) successfully concluded the 16th edition of the Mega Arunachal Tribes Festival (MATF) 2025 at the Soso Tham Auditorium on November 17, showcasing the vibrant cultural heritage of Arunachal Pradesh through a grand display of traditional performances and ethnic artistry.
The annual festival, organised by ASUS for 16 consecutive years, brought together students from various tribes studying and residing in Shillong. The programme featured an array of traditional dances, folk music, ethnic attire displays, and cultural talent performances that highlighted the diversity and unity of Arunachal’s tribal communities.
In his closing address, GS Pani Nyodh, General Secretary of ASUS, reflected on the organisation’s journey since its inception, recalling the challenges faced and the collective efforts that helped strengthen unity and identity among Arunachal students in Shillong. He emphasised the importance of cultural preservation and community solidarity in fostering pride among the youth.
Chief Guest Ha Tatu commended the students for hosting a disciplined and high-quality cultural event, noting that this year’s festival was “even grander and more vibrant” than previous editions. He also presented awards to the winners of the Miss and Mr. MATF 2025 competitions.
