SHILLONG, AUG 25: Three arrested top KSU leaders — president Raymond Kharjana, vice president Pynkmenlang Sanmiet and general secretary Reuben Najiar — were shifted from Garo Hills jails to Shillong district jail on Tuesday.

Former general secretary Donald V Thabah said they met the leaders in the morning and that they are in good health and receiving required medication.

“They have authorized the CEC members outside to convene a meeting shortly and decide on the government’s invitation for talks on the five demands raised by the KSU,” Thabah said.

Meanwhile, the KSU assistant organizing secretary was also arrested, taking the total arrests to four in connection with the August 29 violence during the black-flag bike rally in which two vehicles were torched, 31 vandalized and 18 people assaulted.
