Defending champions Langsning face Meghalaya Police in restart fixture

Shillong, August 17: The Shillong Premier League (SPL) 2026 will resume on Tuesday, August 18, after a brief break, with defending champions Langsning taking on Meghalaya Police at the SSA Stadium. Kick-off is scheduled for 4pm.

Langsning made a winning start to their title defence, defeating Sawmer 1-0 in the season opener, while Meghalaya Police began their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Rangdajied United.

Seven matches of the new SPL season were played before the league was temporarily suspended to accommodate the ongoing Durand Cup 2026, in which three SPL clubs — Shillong Lajong, Langsning and Nongkseh — are participating.

Langsning and Nongkseh have already been eliminated from the Durand Cup, while Shillong Lajong remain in the competition. Lajong, however, are fielding a separate squad in the SPL.

Most of the remaining SPL fixtures have been scheduled for 4pm, although several high-profile encounters will kick off later in the evening.

The single-leg league phase is scheduled to conclude on October 10.

At the end of the league stage, the top six teams will qualify for the SSA Super Cup. The SPL champions and runners-up will also earn qualification for the SSA Champions Cup, which will be played subsequently.
