Shillong, March 13: The budget session of the tenth Meghalaya Assembly will be from March 16 to April 20.
This is the maiden budget session of the new House that was constituted on March 7.
Governor Ganga Prasad will address members of the House on the first day of the session.
According to calendar for the budget session, there will be 18 working days, including six days allotted for private members business and 12 days for transacting government’s business in the House.
During the session, the election to the post of deputy Speaker will be also held on March 21.
Debate on governor’s address will take place on March 19 and April 5, while the chief minister will reply to the debate on governor’s address on April 6.
Chief minister, Conrad Kongkal Sangma who holds the finance portfolio will present the budget estimates of the state for the year 2018-19 on March 23. On the same day, the chief minister will also present a vote-on-account in the House.
General discussion on the budget will be held on April 10 and 12 and the chief minister will reply to the discussion on the budget on April 13.
