Shillong, September 30: Daphunlang Mawlong and former MLA and MDC Nestingdar Nongdkhar have strongly denied allegations that they demanded or accepted money in exchange for securing Staff Nurse appointments through the District Selection Committee (DSC), Nongstoiñ, and announced their decision to file a First Information Report (FIR) against those responsible for making and circulating the claims.

Addressing the media at Upper New Nongstoiñ, the duo described the allegations as baseless, stating that they had severely damaged their reputation and dignity.

They maintained that they had neither demanded nor accepted money from anyone in connection with the Staff Nurse recruitment process and expressed their willingness to cooperate fully with any investigation to establish the facts.

Mawlong and Nongdkhar said they would initiate legal action against those responsible for spreading the allegations. They also urged the authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and take appropriate legal action if it is established that false information had been deliberately circulated.

The duo further appealed to the public not to rely on unverified claims circulating on social media or rush to conclusions, urging everyone to allow the competent authorities to conduct a fair and impartial investigation before forming an opinion.
