Shillong, July 16: Home Minister, James K Sangma and Revenue Disaster Management Minister, Kyrmen Shylla inspected some of the flood affected villages in plain belt areas of West Garo Hills District on Tuesday.
The ministers travelled by boat while surveying the flooded areas. Phulbari MLA, SG Esmatur Mominin, Rajabala MLA, Dr Azad Zaman, Tikrikilla MLA, Jimmy Sangma, West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, Ram Singh and officials of different line departments accompanied the ministers during the inspection at Phulbari.
The ministers held review meeting and took stock of the situation while assuring immediate relief to the affected families.
The plain areas of West Garo Hills have been affected by flood due to overflow of Brahmaputra and Jinjiram rivers in Assam flowing heavy rain in the last few days.
