HYC activists begin 93 km walk from Nongstoi˝ over ILP demand

Shillong, Aug 22: The Hyn˝iewtrep Youths’ Council (HYC) on Tuesday began their march on foot from Nongstoi˝ to Shillong demanding from the State government to implement Inner Line Permit to check influx.
The march on foot began at 7 am from Nongstoi˝. It will cover a distance of 93km till the state capital, Shillong. The march was undertaken by 70 activists of HYC Nongstoi˝ Circle.
The HYC activists undertook the march amid inclement weather. It will take atleast three days to complete the 93 km march from Nongstoi˝, the district headquarter of West Hills district to Shillong.
The HYC has been demanding the implementation of ILP and condemned the Mukul Sangma-led government for refusing to discuss the 14-point of demands in connection with the implementation of various anti-influx laws including ILP system.
