JACATAM call for a hunger strike

Shillong,April 12: In protest against the state government’s and expressing their dismay on the adamant attitude of the state government towards addressing the issues that are mainly related to salary and allowances, teachers of Meghalaya under the banners of Joint Action Committee of All Teacher’s Associations in Meghalaya (JACATAM) has stage a hunger strike on Wednesday near the All India Radio at Lachumiere area.

Joint Action Committee of All Teacher’s Associations in Meghalaya (JACATAM) Chairman E.D Nongsiang said that hunger strike is proposed today after the committee failed to see any sign of cabinet to held its setting on their demand of 100% enhancement for the adhoc category of teacher’s primary, upper primary, Hindi teachers, pre-primary and 4th teachers as assured by the Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma in the last budget session.
