Shillong, August 18: The Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) will organise a Black Flag Bike Rally in Shillong on Wednesday, August 19, to press the Meghalaya Government to address five key demands of the union.
The rally will begin at 4 p.m. from the KSU office at Jaiaw Seng Khasi College and pass through several parts of the city before concluding at Seng Khasi, Jaiaw.
The proposed route includes Lumdiengjri, Rhino, Barik, Malki, Pynthorbah, Madan Iewrynghep, Jylli Shop, Rynjah, Umpling, Ishyrwat, Nongmensong, Polo, Golf Link, Mawlai Mawroh, Mawlai Bus Stand and Mawlai Pump.
According to the KSU, the rally is aimed at protesting what it described as the State Government’s alleged inaction on its demands and highlighting issues concerning the rights and interests of the people of Meghalaya.
The union has appealed to its members and supporters to join the rally and carry black flags as a symbol of protest.
