Ronaldkydon Lyngdoh Nonglait’s 39th-minute strike lifts Nangkiew Irat into top four
Shillong, August 31: Nangkiew Irat secured their second consecutive victory in the Shillong Premier League 2026, edging Mylliem 1–0 at the SSA Stadium here on Monday.
Ronaldkydon Lyngdoh Nonglait scored the decisive goal in the 39th minute to give Nangkiew Irat all three points.
The result takes Nangkiew Irat to seven points and into the top four of the 10-team league, while Mylliem remain at the bottom after suffering their fourth successive defeat.
Nangkiew Irat could have won by a wider margin, particularly in the first half, but a number of promising opportunities went begging.
Wallamsuk Nongkhlaw had two chances in quick succession around the half-hour mark. He fired the first over the bar after Sangti Janai Shianglong delivered a good cross from the right before seeing his tame volley comfortably gathered by Mylliem goalkeeper Rihoklang Khongjoh.
Sangti then came close himself, heading just over the crossbar a few minutes later.
Mylliem struggled to create clear opportunities, although Shaibor Nongrum sent a shot well wide after the ball reached him following referee Wilfred Pohtam Hayong’s quick movement out of its path.
Nangkiew Irat finally broke the deadlock when Edyvenson Dhar advanced into the box from the left flank and squared the ball to Ronaldkydon Lyngdoh Nonglait in front of goal. The forward made no mistake, tapping the ball home from close range.
The second half produced fewer clear-cut chances. Nangkiew Irat came closest to extending their lead in the 68th minute when Jefferson Pakyntein struck the crossbar.
Mylliem had an opportunity to level 10 minutes later, but Alem Khongwir failed to connect with Remark Kharmalki’s cross.
