Shillong, Apr 24: Primrose Lamat delivered a sensational performance in the 5th Meghalaya State League, scoring six goals to power Khimusniang SC to a crushing 11-2 victory over Umkaber SCC in Group A at the SSA Stadium on Friday.
Lamat struck in the 16th, 19th, 24th, 38th, 73rd and 79th minutes to climb to joint top scorer of the season with seven goals, level with Nelson Rymbai of Langsning FC. Additional goals for Khimusniang came from Dawanbiangmi Passah, Alwin Dkhar, Ravi Manar and Meroily Lytan, who added a brace. Umkaber’s replies came through Pynkupbor Kharbteng and Aidor Kharshiing, but they were overwhelmed after briefly reducing the deficit.
In Group H at Mawkyrwat, Rangdajied United FC suffered a setback as they were held 1-1 by Mawlarshong SC—the first major Shillong side to drop points this season. Hopefullness Wanniang gave Mawlarshong the lead in the 18th minute before Gideon Mukhim equalised before half-time.
Other Shillong-based teams enjoyed comfortable wins. In Group A, Nongkseh SSCC defeated Mawshun SCC 6-2, with Sheen Sohktung netting a hat-trick, supported by Hardy Cliff Nongbri and Chanmitre Thma. Mawshun’s goals came via Arkhangel Khongtyngkut.
Defending champions Mawlai SC continued their strong run in Group C, beating Laskein SCSC 4-1 in Amlarem. Goals were scored by Syndongmiki Lyngdoh, Danzel Derique Umdor, Damanbhalang Chyne and Lovingstar Suting, while Bundaki Lamare netted a late consolation.
At Mairang, Langsning FC thrashed Umlakro SC 6-0 in Group F. Nelson Rymbai scored twice after coming on as a substitute, while Samuel Phawa, Kyrmenskhem Mukhim, Donlad Diengdoh and Morningstar Khongkiang also found the net.
In Group B, Nangkiew Irat SC cruised to a 7-1 win over Mawlum Tyrsad SCC. Neblejohn Lyngkhoi scored a hat-trick, with additional goals from Nikelson Bina, Dibinroy Nongspung and substitute Justerwell Tham. Pherdinan Khongsit scored a late consolation.
Group G saw Attong Matgrik FC revive their campaign with a 2-1 win over Maram FC in Williamnagar. Pilman Ch Marak and Willang Jasrang G Momin scored for the winners, while Bris Taro pulled one back.
In Group D at Khliehriat, Rymbai Shkenshynriah SC defeated Ladthadlaboh SC 3-0, courtesy of Skilful Tariang and a brace from Hesmiki Rymbai.
