Shillong,April 5: Together with the rest of India, Ram Navami was celebrated with great pomp in the city today. Hundred of devotees took a procession dedicated to Ram and they hold grand celebrations on the day of Ram Navami.
Ram Navami or Rama Navami is celebrated to commemorate the birth of Lord Rama, one of the most famous and revered Hindu deities. It was on this day that he took birth in Ayodhya as the son of King Dashratha. He is believed to be the seventh incarnation of Vishnu and is therefore a significant figure in Hindu mythology.
